Uncle Donny will not be forgotten just as his 7 brothers will not be forgotten. I hope you meet with all your brothers, and also the basketball team in heaven that many wrote about. Christmas here in Germany was not the same as home, where a Jolly Good guy played Santa for my Daughter until we move here. That was just one of many things that will keep his spirit living. Uncle Donny, you be very much missed here on earth, but hopefully when it is my turn to go, My Dad, you & the rest of the family are there to great me. To Shirley, Jessy, Steph & the rest of the family, my condolence goes out to you in this hard time. Trust me, he is in a much better place, and knowing him, if able, he is looking down on all of you now and watching over you. You will always have a gaurdian Angel looking over all of you. Sorry I am not in the country to attend, but my heart and thoughts will be with all you. Dirk,Andrea & Nina Platt

Mr. Platt was more than just a coach. I have had coaches come and go throughout my years of attempting sports – I’ve always loved them, never so good in the actual playing of them however. But he and Mr. Pletcher were special. They’ve watched me grow up since the fifth grade and have helped shape the person I am today. Mr. Platt was undoubtbly the kindest, most giving, most gentlehearted person you could ever meet. Heaven has truly gained an angel and he and Mr. Pletcher are finally coaching together once more. I am sorry I will not be able to attend the services this weekend, but know my heart and thoughts are with each and every one of you there. He was an amazing man, thank you for sharing him with us.
