Dr. Thomas S. Lynch, 52
Dr. Thomas S. Lynch, 52, of Lancaster, PA, died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Lancaster General Hospital after a courageous battle with AML (acute myelogenous leukemia).
Born in Reform, Alabama, Tom was the son of the late William S. Lynch Jr. and the late Louise M. Mitchell Lynch.
Tom was a 1971 graduate of Manheim Township High School. He attended Wake Forrest University and was a 1975 graduate of Penn State University. Dr. Lynch was a 1980 graduate of Temple School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).
Tom practiced his entire dental career in Lancaster County for over 25 years, opening his own practice in 1982, and retiring due to illness in 2005.
He was a member of the Penn State Alumni Association, the PADI (PA Aquatic Diving Institute). He was also a member of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, the Lancaster Lodge of Perfection of the Free and Accepted Masons, the Scottish Rite Valley of Lancaster, the ASHARA Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons, and a 32nd Degree member of the Harrisburg Consistory.
He was a charter member of Bent Creek Country Club, the PA Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the Lancaster County Dental Society. For several years he was voted “Best Dentist in Lancaster County” by the readers of Lancaster County Magazine. He attended Lancaster County Bible Church.
A certified SCUBA diver, Tom enjoyed traveling and reading. He was an avid golfer, boater, fisherman and sports fan.
Tom was a dedicated father and a good friend to many. His passion for his work and his zest for life touched many people, leaving them with a smile in their heart and a friend for life.
Surviving are a daughter, Jenna R. Lynch and a son, Ryan S. Lynch, both of Lancaster; a sister, Wendy L., wife of Gary F. Vincent of Harpswell, ME and Tarpon Spring, FL; and a fiancée, Kristine R. Shenk.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service on Tuesday at 12:00 noon from Lancaster County Bible Church, 2392 Mount Joy Road, Manheim, PA with Senior Pastor David Ashcraft officiating. I remember him as one of the most healthy people to know. I was his patient in the 80’s and his enthusiastic approach to life and youthful happiness will not be forgotten…hard to believe…just learned of this on line…
