Dustin Lee Sweigart, 36
July 31, 2024
Dustin Lee Sweigart, 36, of Ephrata passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at WellSpan York Hospital. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of Earl Edward Schell and Lisa Sweigart. He was the husband of Cortni Miller Sweigart.
Dustin worked for Service Tire Truck Center, for many years before transitioning to McCarthy Tire Service in the past year.
He graduated from Warwick High School, class of 2007.
Dustin was known as a husband, son, brother, and friend but his favorite name was “dad”. Never missing a milestone, game or the opportunity to help his kids with a school project which sometimes would innocently be taken over to make his own, are memories his children will have for a lifetime. A jokester, you could always find Dustin taking any chance he could to make those around him laugh. He had a love for video games, animals, hiking, drawing, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as listening to music with some of his favorite bands being ICP and Slipknot. He spent many summers along the shorelines with his family as well as trips to the mountains. One of his fondest memories was visiting Dover International Speedway with his dad as a kid.
Surviving in addition to his wife, and parents, are two children, Cyrus H. Sweigart and Saige S. Sweigart, as well as his sister, Jessie Peterson with whom he had an inseparable bond with and whom he deeply enjoyed caring for. He is also survived by his uncles, Paul Sweigart Jr. and his children Trevor and Brandon as well as his uncle Robert Schell and his daughter Emily. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Paul Sweigart, Sr. and Sandy Sweigart and paternal grandparents, Jay and Nancy Keisling.
Through Dustin’s passing he was able to save the lives of numerous individuals by participating in the gift of life program.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dustin’s celebration of life at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA, on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 11:00 AM. There will be a time of visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
