Karen, we’re so sorry to learn of your loss. I’m afraid I really didn’t know Eileen much — I did get to experience the two of you (and others in a group) singing together on at least one occasion that involved some of us other folk dancers — but I have no doubt that all whose lives she touched were bettered for it, and are now feeling her absence.

I was so shocked to hear about Eileen’s “Leeny” passing. I met Leeny several years ago at Breyerfest with her best friend Jeri. I was there with my best friend Suzanne and the four of us hit it off instantly as we were the same age and had met our best friends in grade school. Each year in July we looked forward to seeing each other and during the pandamic when Breyerfest went virtual we still called each other and spoke on the phone to still have that Breyerfest connection. I will never forget her big smile and her great sense of humor and she always made us laugh out loud. She was always so kind and caring and Suzanne and I will miss her. Breyerfest will never be the same without her. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends (Jeri). God bless.

Oh, Karen, I was shocked and saddened to read about your sister. She was such a lovely person, and she did so much good in her work with children. As the priest said at my mom’s funeral, “No goodbye is final, and love is forever.” You will see her again. You and Tony will be in my prayers.
