Eleanor M. Treutlein, 95

Eleanor M. Treutlein, 95, passed away January 28, 2018 at her home in Lancaster. She was born July 24, 1922 in Newark, NJ, the daughter of William R. and Iva (Burris) Howard. She was married to Chadwick E. Treutlein, who served 28 years in the U.S. Army (as well as all of her sons, who also served in the U.S. Armed Services). Chadwick preceded her in death as well as her brother and sister.
She was a Gray Lady at the Landstuhl Hospital, Landstuhl, Germany, she had also worked in the Children’s Nursery, Vogelweh, Germany, after returning to the U.S., she was a Nurses’ Aide for the Horton Memorial Hospital, Middletown, NY. She loved her family, quilting and sewing. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Middletown, NY.
Eleanor is survived by her children; Chadwick E. (Debbie), Broken Arrow, OK, George R. (Katherine), Many, LA, John B. (Betsy), Pine Bush, NY, Charles A. (Suncha), Syracuse, UT, Edna Smith, Chester, VA, Virginia Holcomb, Lancaster, PA, Katherine Van Kleeck (John), Richmond, VA, 20 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
Viewing with the family present will be 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA, 17543. Interment will be at 2:00 PM, at the Wallkill Cemetery, 160 Midway, Middletown, NY, 10940. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Compassionate Care Hospice, 1513 Cedar Cliff Dr. Ste 100 Camp Hill, PA 17011, or Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251.
