Eleni (Tsiragaki) Lyristis, 94

Eleni (Tsiragaki) Lyristis, 94, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on February 14, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her family. Born in Rhodes, Greece, she was the daughter of the late George and Paraskevi (Kountouri) Tsiragaki. Eleni was the loving wife of the late Anastasios “Andy” Lyristis.
In 1967, Eleni and her family came to the United States and settled in Lancaster County. Eleni retired after 40 years as a seamstress from Showcase of Fashions. She took pride in her style and loved sewing, especially making her own patterns from start to finish. She liked entertaining and cooking, particularly stuffed grape leaves (dolmadakia). Eleni loved gardening and admiring wild birds, dancing and playing cards. She enjoyed traveling to her hometown of Rhodes, Greece and to Italy to see family and friends. Family was most important in her life.
Surviving are four children: George Lyristis, his wife Maria Lyristis, Christine Hatzinikolas, Tsambiko Lyristis, his wife Inna Lyristis, Voula “Patricia” Lyristis; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Eleni was preceded in death by 7 siblings.
A viewing will take place from 10-11 AM with a Funeral Service to begin at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 64 Hershey Ave, Lancaster, PA 17603 with Rev. Hector Firoglanis and Rev. Alexander Veronis officiating. Eleni will be laid to rest at Conestoga Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.

Upon returning to the dentist, I learned the sad news of Patty’s passing- who usually kept me up on news about Dr. Lieberman and Pat, and now just learned of Mrs. Lyristis. Please accept my condolences, even if it’s a bit late.
