He volunteered at Resurrection Grade School maintaining their computer systems and coaching basketball with Rev. Allan Wolfe for 10 years. He was quiet, dependable, reliable, supportive and trustworthy. Wes was a gentle soul that will be missed dearly.
Liz and Wes are survived by their four children: Alicia M. Martin, Andrea E. Martin, Timothy M. Martin, and Marie K. Martin all of Lancaster; and step-mother, Arlene J. Martin of Randallstown, MD.
Liz and Wes are survived by her six siblings: Barbara A. Bridge, companion of Michael Brown, of Lancaster, Linda B. Caccamo, of Shamong, NJ, Helen K. Witmer, wife of Neal B., of Ephrata, PA, Janet S. Bridge of Ephrata, PA, Fran Bridge, husband of Lisa C. of Mount Joy, PA, and Debra J. Waine, wife of W. Emery of Glenmoore, PA. She is also survived by two nieces Jessica L. Wes is survived by a sister, Jacquelyn M. Hair, wife of John W., of Lancaster, PA; a niece Katie E. Hair, of Lancaster, PA and a nephew Luke P. Hair of Lancaster.

Thank God for families who are willing to step up to the plate in a time of crisis!!Janet and Linda, your parents are looking down and saying “we raised a great family, always looking out for each other”. All of the Bridge children should be thankful for such caring parents, as all parents should be because we never know when “tradgedy” will strike our family!!
Love & Prayers to EVERYONE.

Alicia,
I just wanted you to know that you and your siblings, family, and friends have been in our thoughts and prayers ever since we learned of this terrible loss. I enjoyed getting to know your parents as we watched many basketball games together from the stands, and I know how devoted they were to you and your happiness. Your mother was so kind and thoughtful when my own mother passed away in 2011, offering me comforting words (as many of the parents knew this). So Marya’s dad Joe, Marya, and I extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to all of you, and we will keep you in our prayers as you go forward.
Lisa (for the Jucewicz Family)

Dear Alicia, Andrea, Timmy & Maria,
“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body.” 2 Corinthians 4:8-11
We love you very much and will never forget the wonderful friendship born at St. Mary’s and times together in Armata Bianca and our Labor Day weekend mini vacations. Faith, Courage and Strength – we pray for these graces for you and your family. Mom and Dad are smiling on you and interceding for their loved ones. We are here for you!
God bless you,

Dear Andrea, Alicia, Timothy and Maria,
I worked with Wes for four years in the IT Dept at Horst Group before he met Liz. He was an absolute joy to be around and we quickly became the closest of friends. Wes and I ate lunch together every day and hung out together after work. We played sports – (I taught him how to play golf!) – He helped me finish the construction/electrical work on the second floor of my home – I can’t tell you how many meals I fed him (He loved my wife’s cooking!) – He would even show up with presents for Christmas and birthdays! – Wes was a part of my family and we really enjoyed his company. All we did was laugh! He was one of the kindest, gentlest, funniest and smartest men I ever met. Our hearts are broken for your loss and we pray the Lord will bless you and keep you. M. Wesley Martin – I miss you, my brother – I love you – I will never forget you – Joe Niland

Words can never completely express the sadness in our hearts for this tremendous loss to the children, as well as, other family members and friends, but my heart broke when I heard of this tragedy.
Your parents were two wonderful people, a reflection of God’s love for man. It is admirable that they both completed God’s mission within 50 years and left a beautiful legacy for their children. May God bless and keep them.
My prayers is for God to continue to offer comfort and peace to you all.

To the Martin and Bridge Families,
I had the honor of knowing Liz and working with her at LGH. I can only say what others have already said and what you know – she was a fabulous nurse and most importantly a beautiful person. She will always be remembered with admiration and love by those who worked with her and by those she cared for. My deepest sympathies and prayers to each of you,
Gail Miller

To the Martin family,
I was so very shocked and saddened when I heard the news of Wes and Elizabeth. My heart is filled with sorrow and even though I can’t ever know or understand why some things happen in life I only know that with God and the Lord Jesus we are capable of surviving the pain of such a great loss and tradegy. My heartful sympathy and prayers of healing will be with you in the days that lie ahead. God bless you all,

To all the Martin children and family.
Most of you don’t know us but we had to share this brief message. We used to live in Dunmore next door to the Duggans. Liz would come up to visit and help out at her grandmothers. She was selfless and loving always helping her cook clean and even paint a porch if she had to. She often came over to sit on our porch and share her “nursing school” stories. She left a big impression on our hearts, Liz was just that kind of person. Ater her wedding we only saw her once but we never failed to send each other that yearly Christmas card, and without fail, every year she sent us a new upgraded picture of all you kids. You brought her such pride and joy.
We are heartsick over this tragedy and pray you find peace in your hearts.
With love and all our deepest sympathies.
Mac and Rita MacNeal

My dear, dear friends and former neighbors of about (15 years??)
We just came home this afternoon from a family vacation in Avalon, NJ, but Debbie (you will always be Debbie to me, after all these years and everything we have been through together), I could not believe what you were telling me regarding Liz and Wes> I was shaking and had to sit down, thinking: ” here we are on a family vacation with children, spouses and grandchildren who are walking, running, riding bikes, swimming in the ocean with rough currents, please dear Lord, be with them, protect them and keep them safe”! This could be our family!
Then to take my mind off the tradgedy, I started reminiscing of when the Bridge family moved next door, like Danny said many times “a full baseball team moved next to us!(: We were used to it being quiet, however the neighborhood changed (later on, we found out for the better), but there were many evenings when husband, Danny and I couldn’t sit on our patio, after tucking Danette and Danny into bed because you kids were running around the house (inside and out) and yelling and screamin, having a great time (of course, we understood you just came from a small neighborhood in West Chester!) Even “Little Franny ” was right there with his 6 sisters, trying to keep up with a cast on his leg!(:
What great memories!! However, both our families faced great losses: your mother in 1992 and husband, Danny , 9 month later; but we always were there for each other, especially you, Debbie! Thank You
You were “blessed” to have such wonderful parents and close-knit family!
My heart goes out to all of you and Wes’s family, but especially to Alecia, Andrea, Timothy and Marie! Alecia, I can still remember how proud your parents were of you when you were born. I was sitting on the deck one Sunday afternoon and your parents came over to show me their first born. Oh, how proud they were, they beamed with joy!
I hope you ALL realize how precious life is, and we must live each day to its fullest, for who knows what tomorrow may bring! Iam also hoping that ALL of you can be comforted by the beautiful memories you have shared and feel the love and support of a whole circle of friends and family who will be there for you.
Always remember “life is like a beautiful rose garden – among the lovely flowers, there are also thorns”!
I will continue praying for all of you, as I have been since the tradgedy. Always know that I will available with a “listening ear”!
May the love of cherished memories linger with you and bring you strength and comfort!!
Love and God Bless,
Nick and Nancy

July 26, 2013
Dear Precious Andrea, Alicia, Timothy and Maria,
I am sooo so very sorry for your immense loss. I worked with your mom at LGH in the Radiology Department and we taught the Radiology students together the Summer before she accepted her position at Hershey. My kids, Benjamin and Ellie played with you guys at your house while your mom and I worked on school work–do you remember that? I just want to share with you how much of a treasure and gift your mother was and continues to be as a part of her memory and caring spirit is left with everyone here whose lives she had touched. Your mom was a FABULOUS nurse who truly put her heart into each patient and staff member she was in contact with–and she did a wonderful job of imparting her love of healthcare to the students whom she taught as well. Her tremendous faith in God was apparent in all she did–she trusted God with all her heart and truly acted as the hands of feet of Jesus to all she met–how sad we are to lose her here on earth but what a gift her life was to you and all of us blessed enough to know her–I am sure Heavens angels are celebrating her joining them and you can bet you have the BEST guardian angels in your mom and your dad that anyone could ask for! I know she loved you four children and your dad with all her heart and she was SO VERY PROUD of you all–Hold each other tight and take care of each other.
Please know how many many people are grieving this loss with all four of you and please know too that Jesus catches every tear you cry and He will carry you when you feel like you can’t walk any more.
With much love and sympathy,
Maria Bryce

My heart aches for your family. We too were vacationing here in Corolla with our four children. There has not been a day where we have not thought and prayed for all of you. I can not imagine the grief and feel so helpless. My hope is that here in Corolla changes will be made so that others are not at risk. Please know that there are so many who do not know you that are sending love and prayers. I wish we could do more.

Dear Liz and Wes,
How saddened we are with your untimely passing. It just seems like yesterday that I sat beside you during one of Maria’s games and we were chatting about the kids. We will always remember how loving and kind you both were!! It was at that very game that Jordan Talbert was injured, and Liz, you ran out on the court to give her aid. That was just like you!! Always there to lend a helping hand. Wes, I’ll always remember your friendly ways….you always had a smile on your face! You have such wonderful children, and they will carry on with all the values that you taught them. Your friends will help them throughout their life, and when it’s time, they, too, will be there to reunite with you again. Love, Lynn and Jim Kuhn

My thoughts and prayers are with you and all of the families during this unbelieveably difficult time. I had the privilege of working with Liz at both Lancaster General Hospital and Penn State, as well as through volunteering at Resurrection School and St. Mary’s parish, and have never met a person who cared more for her friends, family, co-workers, and patients than Liz did. I still can’t imagine not seeing her, catching up on our lives, and sharing stories. The passing of Liz and Wes leaves a hole in the fabric of our collective communities and they will be deeply missed. I will be with you in spirit on Monday, and will keep you in my prayers. Special hugs to Helen. Catherine Baumgardner
