Elmer Lenhart Wagner, 92

Elmer Lenhart Wagner, Jr., 92, originally of Lancaster, PA, passed away on January 6, 2024. He was born on April 4, 1931, in Parkesburg, PA, to the late Elmer and Emily Wagner. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Donald and David Wagner, and wife Catherine.
Elmer proudly served in the Army from 1952 to 1954 and was awarded a National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
After his military service, Elmer pursued higher education and earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Penn State University. He went on to have a successful career as a Professional Engineer with Huth Engineers in Lancaster, PA, eventually rising to the office of President.
Outside of his professional life, Elmer enjoyed reading, sailing on the Chesapeake Bay and working on home improvement projects.
Elmer will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Judy Tyson; his daughter, Renée Wagner (Mark); his son, Brent Wagner (Doreen); and his granddaughter, Karla Wagner.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 12 from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Charles L. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike in Lititz, PA. Funeral services and internment will begin at 11:30 am on Saturday, January 13 at the Limerick Garden of Memories, 44 E. Arcadia Dr. in Limerick, PA.

Mr. Wagner was very active in the Lancaster Power Squadron while it existed. He taught several courses which my husband I enjoyed taking. He was so patient and kind, a true asset to the group. Jackie Johns

Very sorry to hear about Elmer. He was a great neighbor and we always enjoyed talking about the ducks, birds and of course Freckles my dog. He was a favorite of Freckles and we always stopped to say hello.
