Eugene “Gene” E. Ackerman, 69

Eugene “Gene” E. Ackerman, 69, of Lancaster, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Lancaster General Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born in Lancaster, to the late Alice (Mann) and Wilson Ackerman. He was the loving husband to Patricia (Cummings) Ackerman for over 43 years.
Gene attended Penn Manor High School. He was employed as a Millright for Herr & Sacco for over 20 years. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and playing golf. He also enjoyed camping, gardening and attending Bike Week in Wildwood, NJ. He enjoyed watching thunderstorms, but mostly he loved to spend time with his family.
In addition to his wife Pat, Gene is survived by their son Steven Ackerman and granddaughter, Savannah Ackerman both of Lancaster; two brothers; one sister and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a sister, a brother and a half-brother. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Gene’s memory to The Autism Society- Berks County, PO Box 6683, Wyomissing, PA 19610.
A Celebration of Gene’s life will be held at 6PM on Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Friends and family will be received from 5PM to 6PM prior to the service. Casual dress is requested.

What a beautiful tribute for your “hunny! You were so fortunate to have spent 43 years together. No one can understand the sadness you feel because no one lived your lives.
