Evangelia Platis, 93, of Lancaster, PA a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on November 18, 2024.

Born in Chios, Greece, Evangelia, the daughter of Nicholas and Anna Doulos, immigrated to the United States in 1973 with her late husband, Kosta Platis, and their son, George, to live in Lancaster, PA to join their daughter, Marianthi, wife of Antonios Mountis. She delighted in the births of her grandchildren Stella, Alex, and Kosta and later to see grandchildren Constantine and Evangelia from her son, George, husband of Angie Platis. Evangelia’s joy grew with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Antonia, Anthony, Marianthi, Paula, Nicholas, and Paris. She celebrated their milestones and treasured every moment with them. Her unwavering love and devotion to her family will truly be missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kosta; a daughter Despina, and a great granddaughter Evangelia, daughter of Marianthi and Antonios Mountis.

Evangelia Platis had a deep Christian faith and loved her Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church where she participated in the Greek Bazaar and Philoptochos Society. She was a devoted homemaker, who enjoyed cooking, crocheting and needlepointing, but most importantly spending her time with her friends and family.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox, Church, 64 Hershey Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17603 at 11am and a viewing to be held one hour before from10:00 am-11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
