Evelyn (Galbreath) Earhart, 97, of Brethren Village since 1997, formerly of Lititz and Manheim, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Brethren Village. A licensed practical nurse, she worked at Pleasant View, Brethren Village and private duty nursing until her retirement in 1982.
Mrs. Earhart was a member of the Lititz United Methodist Church. Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late Elmer B. and Gertie Shue (Lehn) Galbreath. She was married to the late Charles M. Earhart, who died in 1985.
Her survivors include a sister, Fern, wife of the late James Orwick of Lancaster, 2 nephews, 2 nieces, 2 grandnieces and 3 grandnephews. Also survived by a stepdaughter, Joan Casto, South Charleston, WV, and stepson, Richard Earhart, husband of Jeanette of Sebring, FL. Evelyn was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Garman, a stepson, Robert Earhart, husband of Emma of East Petersburg and her stepdaughters Joyce Winters, wife of Galen of Willow Street and Mary Emma Singer, wife of Robert of Lititz. Her survivors also include thirteen step-grandchildren and eighteen step-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015, in the Chapel of Brethren Village, with Rev. Dana Statler officiating. Private interment took place in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia. Memorial contributions may be made to Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17606.
