Fay Rauschkolb, 82

October 28, 2018

Fay Rauschkolb went to the Lord on October 28, 2018 at the age of 82. The daughter of the late Olga Barnes, Fay was born in Manhattan, NY.
A graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in Queens, NY, upon graduation Fay worked as an Administrative Assistant on Wall Street. Fay married Richard Rauschkolb in June of 1959, the start of a long and very happy marriage of nearly 60 years.
Fay and Richard’s first child, daughter Elaine, was born in Queens, NY. Following the birth of their son, Mark, Fay and Richard moved to Copiague on Long Island where they raised their family and resided until 2002, when they happily retired in Lancaster, PA.
Fay’s entire life was spent in selfless service to others. Both family and community. A woman of deep faith, Fay supported her church, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Amityville, in a variety of fashions: Altar Guild, Usher, Greeter and Sunday School Teacher. Years later, upon relocating to Lancaster, Fay was equally involved in Mount Cavalry Lutheran Church where she and Richard forged deep and lasting friendships.
Fay’s life was marked by an endearing love of all living things as well as a sincere appreciation for the preciousness of life. Fay served as a foster parent for new born infants, among her countless acts of kindness.
Fay is survived by her husband Richard, their children Elaine Ciofani and her husband Tony, her son Mark and his wife Kirsten, and five grandchildren, Alexander and Alyssa Ciofani and Rebecca, Kyra and Walter Rauschkolb.

Aunt Fay was pure, selfless love.  She was always thinking of others, generous, and kind.   She never missed a card on any of our special days, even when she was suffering. Her home was always open and welcoming.  She is truly a woman to be admired and emulated.  She will be missed, but is truly at home as an angel in heaven.  Aunt Fay will always be remembered with love and gratitude in our hearts and home.

Hugs and God’s peace to Dick and family.  Fay was an inspiration in my teenage years and a Sunday School teacher to David at English Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in St. Albans, NY.

Richard: we offering to you and your family our sympathy on the passing of Fay.  I’m still hobbling following my knee replacement this past month.  May God bless you and your family at this time.  Also, we thank you for your service with the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard since you moved to Lancaster in 2002. Your service has been much appreciated.
