Floyd “Whitey” Rightmire, 89
May 02, 2020
Floyd “Whitey” Rightmire shuffled off this mortal coil on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 5:58 AM. He was beloved by all he encountered and will be terribly missed. He hailed originally from Hanover, PA, where he was an all-state fullback in high school. He attended Albright College on a scholarship where, interrupted by a 3-year stint in the US Air Force, he was named Little All American and graduated with a degree in History. His first job as an educator was at River Dell High School in Oradell, NJ, where he was a History teacher, an assistant football coach, and the head baseball coach. After attaining his Master’s Degree in Guidance Counseling, Whitey went to Northern Highlands High School in Allendale, NJ, where he spent the remainder of his 36-year career as a Guidance Counselor. Whitey was the adoring husband of Barbara Rightmire, and the proud father of Michael and wife Mayna (children: Christopher and Brittany), Robert (deceased 2011), James (deceased 1986), and Malinda (son, Kiva), who lives in California. Whitey was known as a happy, funny, positive person who loved his family above all else.

Goodbye dear friend. My favorite jitter bug dancer and Quasimodo rolled in to one. Indeed a rare combination. So many smiles. So much laughter. So much joy you brought into my life and so many others as well. You were very special.
We’ll meet again.Roger Lippincott
