Francis X (Frank) Kirchner, 88

Francis X (Frank) Kirchner, 88, went to be with God on Wednesday, October 14, 2005, at Willow Valley Retirement Community in Willow Street, PA. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. He was born on March 21, 1927, in Lancaster, PA and was the son of the late August and Ida (Fritsch) Kirchner of Lancaster.
Frank was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School and served in the US Navy during World War II. After being discharged Frank took advantage of the GI Bill and graduated from Franklin and Marshall College. He began working for Ernst and Ernst at their office in Philadelphia, PA, later being made a partner and working in the South American office in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from where he retired. He spent most of his adult working life in Argentina where he was a member of the American Club and became an avid collector of art.
Frank was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lancaster, PA, a former member and past president of the Lancaster County Art Association, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. Frank was charitable with his church and the Diocese of Harrisburg. He enjoyed his family, painting, friends, and playing tennis in his younger years.
Frank is survived by his sister Patricia (Jim Scarborough), of Columbia, PA and ten nieces and nephews, Michael Krantz, Conestoga, PA Charlie Fulton, Lititz, PA, Father Robert Fulton, Covina CA, Patricia Fulton Jacobs, Lancaster, PA, Margaret Fulton Jordan, Ocala, FL, Ray Fulton, Strasburg, PA, Jim Scarborough, Austin TX, Catherine Scarborough Tyler, Elizabethtown, PA, Frank Crum, WA, and Elizabeth Crum, Lancaster, PA. He was preceded in death by his four sisters, Mary (Charles Fulton), Catherine (John Krantz), Margaret (Frank Crum), Rose, and his three brothers, Leo (Audrey Burey), Richard, and Donald, all of Lancaster County. He will be remembered by his family and friends who loved him very much.
Friends will be received on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 9-10AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 119 S. Prince St., Lancaster, PA, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10AM. Interment to follow in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Lancaster County Art Association at 149 Precision Ave, Strasburg, PA 17579.
