Frank Cruz, 52

March 16, 2018

Frank Cruz, 52, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on March 16, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Coral Gables, FL, he was the son of the late Jose Raul Cruz & Eustasia (Cabrera) Cruz. Frank was the loving husband of Dawn Marie (Conner) Cruz. Together, along with close friends & family, celebrated their 30th Wedding Anniversary on a Royal Caribbean’s Harmony Of The Seas cruise.

An Account Executive, he worked for Delta Medical Systems. He had a great passion for his work in sales. Frank was fascinated by astronomy, and took Stephanie & Brandon to South Carolina on August 21, 2017 to see the solar eclipse. He also had a private pilot’s license and enjoyed planes and trains. He was involved with the school board at St. Leo’s School. His Cuban Heritage was important to him and he embraced it.

In addition to his wife, Dawn, Frank is survived by daughters: Stephanie Leigh Cruz & Shannon Lynn Cruz; a son: Brandon Francisco Cruz; and a sister: Caridad Rita Cruz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave, Lancaster, PA 17601 with Rev. Peter I. Hahn as Celebrant. Friends will be received from 10-11 AM at the church. Frank will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lancaster Cancer Center: checks payable to The Healing Journey Foundation, 1858 Charter Lane, Suite 202, Lancaster, PA 17605.

Dawn & Family ~
I’m so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you during this difficult time.
I worked with Frank, at Heart Specialists of Lancaster, (now Wellspan Cardiology) for many years. During that time, it was evident that he was strong willed and his fight was for his wonderful family, that he loved dearly.

Dawn, Stephanie, Shannon, and Brandon,
I’m very sorry for your loss.  Working with Frank was always an enjoyable and educational experience. We traveled around PA and he shared stories of his family and other passions. He was  a strategic thinker, kind, incredibly tenacious, with a dry sense of humor.
I will miss him, remember him fondly and admire his courage in his final battle.
With deepest sympathy you remain in my thoughts and prayers.

My deepest sympathy to the Cruz family.  I was honored to care for Frank and to establish a friendship with him and his family.  He fought a valiant fight and I will never forget him.  We shared many good conversations and he spoke so highly of Dawn and his children which is a true testiment to the man he was.  God bless all of you during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Lori Gerhart RN, OCN
