Franklin A. Loew, 93

Franklin A. Loew, 93, of Lancaster, formerly of Reading, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at the Mennonite Home of Lancaster. Frank was born in Tamaqua, PA to the late Edgar W. and the late Emily R. (Focht) Loew. His first wife Dawn M. (Fisher) Loew passed away in 1988. In addition to his first wife, Frank was also preceded in death by his second wife, Jane L. (Wise/Kline), a daughter, 2 sisters and a brother.
He was employed by the former Big A. Auto Parts as the Vice President for the eastern region and retired after 45 years of service in 1982. Frank was a member of the First Reformed Church in Lancaster where he taught Sunday school and served on countless committees.
Frank proudly served his country in the US Army in WWII where he was stationed throughout Europe and the Philippines.
He was a life- long member of the Ephrata Masonic Lodge #665, F & A.M.
He is survived by his son, William E. Loew, husband of Dawn, of Sinking Spring, PA, 3 step- daughters, Phyllis A. Clelan, wife of Douglas, of Lititz, Janet L. Miller, wife of Robert, of Arnold, MD, Suzanne L. Wike, of Lititz, grandchildren, Katie Loew, Amy Koberstein, Eric Getz, Andrew and Elizabeth Miller. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren and 2 brothers, William R. Loew, of Lancaster and John R. Loew, of Abington, PA.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Frank’s life celebration Memorial Service at Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, on Saturday, January 18, at 11:00AM with Rev Bill Worley officiating. A visitation will take place from 10-10:45AM and the memorial will immediately follow.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Frank was a very good friend to my parents, Herb and Ruth Halliday, and they shared many good times with him and Dawn and Jane and Bill over many years. My mom Ruth and husband Rick join me in offering our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences.
