Fred A. Sigafoos, Sr., 85

Fred A. Sigafoos Sr., 85, died peacefully on October 23, 2024, in Willow Street, PA. Born in Trenton, NJ on August 13, 1939, he was the son of the late Fred Feidler Sigafoos and Marie T. (Gilbert) Sigafoos.
Fred is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan (Monichetti) Sigafoos, daughter Linda Sigafoos Legge and her daughter, Elizabeth Legge, Fred (Drew) Sigafoos, Jr., Kathleen Sigafoos and their daughters, Kaely (John Torres), Karoline and Kathryn; Fred’s sister, Joyce Gnandt (Joseph), nephew, Jeffrey Gnandt (Marci) and Ashley Rose Gnandt. Fred is also survived by numerous Sigafoos cousins, and was loved by the Monichetti sisters in law, nieces, nephews, and Godchildren, Christina Behe, Catherine (Bernabe) Hamran, Wellington Talkpa and many friends.
Fred was born and raised in Trenton, NJ. After graduating from Trenton Catholic HS, he joined the US Navy and served as an aerographer in Hawaii. After the service Fred received a BA from the College of New Jersey and an MSW from Rutgers University. He worked for Child Protective Services for DYFS in NJ and became an administrator in Policy, Planning and Research.
After retiring, Joan and Fred served as volunteers for Tidewell Hospice and Mercy Corps working with the migrant poor at the Guadalupe Center in Immokalee, FL.
Fred was an avid reader, and loved to bowl, golf and fish. Fred served his Lord as a Eucharistic Minister and Prayer Group Leader in several Catholic churches.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ 08690. Interment will follow in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville, NJ. Family and friends will be received from 8-9:30AM at the Brenna Funeral Home, Immordino Chapel, 1799 Klockner Rd, Hamilton, NJ 08619.
