Frederick C. Woerner, 86

Frederick C. Woerner, 86, of Lancaster, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Lancaster General Hospital.
Born in Lancaster, he was the husband of the late Geraldine (Rice) Woerner, who died in 2005. They had been married 59 years. He was the son of the late Paul and Mary (Yellets) Woerner.
Frederick loved gardening and public sales. He was a talented furniture refinisher who could make anything look like new; he also enjoyed the Phillies, recycling, and a trip to the casinos.
He worked for Eshelman’s Feed Mill from 1945 to 1974. He then worked as a custodian for the Penn Manor School District for 16 years until his retirement in 1990.
Frederick attended Marticville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Jerri Reynolds and her husband Lee of Leola and a son, Frederick C. Woerner, Jr and his wife Kathleen of Millersville; a daughter-in-law, Brucetta Beatty of Akron; 2 sisters: Beatrice Hubley of East Earl and Shirley Riley of Philadelphia; a brother, Ed Woerner of Denver; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren and 4 step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Horace Beatty and 14 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Monday, June 9, 2014 at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St., Millersville with Pastor David Longenecker officiating. Friends will be received from 5 to 7 PM Sunday, June 8, 2014 at the funeral home, and again one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in Conestoga Reformed Cemetery.
