Frederick J. Hartwigsen, 76

Frederick J. Hartwigsen, 76, of Lancaster and formerly of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015. Born in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Norman L. and Anna (Darragh) Hartwigsen, and the husband of Anne L. (Fritz) Hartwigsen.
A graduate of E. L. Meyers High School, Wilkes Barre and also Penn State University Wilkes Barre Campus, Fred was Vice President of Public Affairs for UGI Utilities. He served in the US Army as a SP4 with CO E 2nd BN 4th TRS at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, from 1962 to 1964.
In addition to his wife Anne, Fred is survived by two daughters, Donna, wife of Joseph Kubik of Mechanicsburg and Susan, wife of Alan Kwiatkowski of Carlisle; two stepsons, Steven Furman of York and Gregory Furman, husband of Lora of Chadds Ford; seven grandchildren; three siblings, Joan, wife of Frank Partington of Cunningham, William Hartwigsen, husband of Roseanne of Wilkes Barre, and Randy Hartwigsen, husband of Kathy of Dallastown; and his sister-in-law Bonnie Fritz of Mechanicsburg. Fred was preceded in death by his siblings Lois Swank and Nelson Hartwigsen.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, November 20, 2015, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, followed by a memorial service at 12:30 pm, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut St., Camp Hill, PA 17011, with The Reverend Nancy R. Easton officiating. Inurnment with Military Honors will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, designated for the Bob Fryer & Family Inpatient Center, P.O.
