Genevieve E. Hill
Genevieve E. Hill of Lancaster passed away peacefully in her home on June 17, 2007.
Born in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Bernice Kuklinski Kurkowski. Gen was married to Harold Hill in Chicago on June 21, 1941 and leaves her husband of 64 years. Surviving in addition to her husband is sister Melanie Dobro, Bloomingdale, IL, children, Barbara, Apex, NC, Burton and wife Mari-Jo, Cary, NC, and grand-daughter Whitney, Cary, NC.
She was a member of the American Red Cross as a nurse’s aide in Chicago, IL, was active as a parent in Campfire Girls, Little League, and Boy Scouts. She was also a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary in Riverside, IL and the Four Seasons Club of Lancaster, PA as well as being a member of Towne Club. In Lancaster she was active in Little League football, baseball and active in municipal elections as minority inspector in Manheim Township, 4th district. She was a previous member of St. Anne’s Church and more recently a member of St. John Neumann Church. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, travel, and playing bridge.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 10:00-10:30AM at St John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster, PA, with Mass to follow at 10:30AM. Interment will be at 10:00AM on Thursday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603. Arrangements by the Charles F.
