George E. Buehler, 70
George E. Buehler, 70, of Lancaster, PA passed away on Monday, July 20, 2009 after a brief stay at Moravian Manor and was succumbed by cancer. He was the son of the late James C. and Ella (Harnish) Buehler. George was born in Lancaster, PA.
He is survived by his wife Shirley (Gerlach) Buehler. They celebrated thirty five years together.
George was of the Catholic faith. He grew up going to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He attended St. Anthony’s grade school and was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High, class of 1957.
He attended Millersville University and Franklin and Marshall College.
George retired as a freight and haul dispatcher with Bard and Son and previously worked as a dispatcher for thirty five years with Kenosha Boat Transportation.
George was an avid golfer. He was a member of Olde Hickory Golf Club. He loved cats, especially Siamese cats and his cat’s name was Linging. George enjoyed traveling with his wife to Mexico, Costa Rica, and the Caribbean Islands. He was a fan of Notre Dame football.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Joseph Buehler Mester, of Kentucky, a brother, William A. Buehler, husband of Judith, of Lititz, a sister, Mary Ann Martin, of New Jersey, nephews Brian D. Buehler, of Akron, Christopher S. Buehler, of Texas, Timothy J. Buehler, of North Carolina, Deric S. Gerlach, of Manhattan, Ryan S. Gerlach, of Washington Boro, Darin S. Gerlach, of Tennessee, Devin S. Gerlach, of Lancaster, a niece Susan Buehler, of Lancaster, and a brother-in-law Darold D. Gerlach, husband of Ruth, of Washington Boro. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James C. and John J. Buehler.
The Christian Prayer Service and interment will be held privately.
