Gerald D. Allmond, 67

Gerald D. Allmond, 67, formerly of Lancaster, passed away at Maple Farms Nursing Center, Akron, on Saturday, May 14, 2016. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Eforrest T. and M. Therese (Stine) Allmond. Gerald’s wife, D. Elaine Allmond died in 2008.
He worked at Willow Valley Retirement Community doing general outside maintenance, retiring in 2013. Gerald enjoyed playing Pool, watching movies, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he collected coins and he loved working on projects and fixing things.
Surviving Gerald are his 3 daughters, Lisa M., wife of Joseph P. Scarborough, Brownstown, Jessica E. wife of Dan DeCriscio, New Holland and Jennifer wife of Jeff McKinney, New Holland; 3 stepchildren, Bob Neiss, husband of Sharon, Marietta, Karen Wirls, Lancaster and Todd Neiss, husband of Roni, Manheim; 10 grandchildren, Mikaela, Jose, Cheyenne, Samantha, Amber, Jason, Ian, Kirk, Josh and Jennifer; 8 great-grandchildren and 5 brothers, Edward Allmond, Philadelphia, Raymond Allmond, Peach Bottom, and James Allmond, Eugene Allmond and Larry Allmond all of Lancaster. One sister, Donna Harding, preceded Gerald in death.
A visitation will take place from 6 to 7 pm, followed by the memorial service at 7 pm with Pastor Mark J. Thiboldeaux officiating, on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Dr., Lancaster, PA 17603.

I grew up knowing Gerald and his brothers. We all had fun years ago in sunnyside and also when the band use to play in my fathers yard on east end ave. Also when i lived on turnbridge dr. i would take to jerry alot. Till we meet again… Joe DeMora jr.
