Geraldine T. Mansbery
February 20, 2014
On February 20, 2014, our dear Mother left those who loved her most to be reunited with her husband and two sons.
She was born in 1927 in Plainfield, New Jersey, the daughter of William and Agnes Taynor. She graduated from Plainfield High School and worked as a service representative for NJ Bell Telephone. After marrying the love of her life, O. Paul Mansbery, on June 10, 1950, she began raising their family.
In Plainfield, Gerry was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club of the Plainfield’s and was very active in St. Mary’s Parish and the Boy Scouts. Upon moving to Warren Township, she was involved in Our Lady of the Mount Parish.
In 1987, they moved to Stuart, Florida and became very active in St. Joseph’s Parish. There Gerry was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the National Council of Catholic Women, and a member of the Columbiettes, Council 6241, Stuart, Florida.
Upon moving to Lititz, Pennsylvania, Gerry again became active in her church, St. James, Lititz, and joined the Silver Liners and the St. James Crafters.
Gerry’s biggest passion was her family. They were her life. She loved to travel with her husband and children- by land, by sea, and by air. Her family extended far beyond to all friends. There was always another seat at the table for those who knew Gerry. As much as she loved, she was loved.
Gerry is survived by her son Thomas Mansbery, married to Carol, Wilmington, NC; daughters Kathleen Mansbery, Lititz and Margaret (Mimi) Girten, married to Kevin, Lititz; sister A. Theresa Major, married to Thomas, Sun Lakes, AZ; seven grandchildren, Ryan Mansbery, Jennifer Mansbery, Jeanne Mansbery Rupp, Kelley Mansbery-Jillson, Mimi Mansbery, Kathleen Girten Drakely, and Kevin Girten, Jr.; and 5 great-grandchildren. In heaven she will be joining her husband Paul, two sons, James P. Mansbery and William F. Mansbery and her sister Kathryn Jane May.
Friends will be received on Monday, February 24, 2014 from 6-8PM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Ave., Lititz, PA on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 11AM, the Rev. James O’Blaney as Celebrant. Interment in Longeneckers Cemetery. Dearest Mimi, Kathy, Tommy, and family –
Your mother was a very special lady and a big part of my life as well. She touched everyone that came in her presence, and she will never be forgotten. I had the best parents, but yours were a very close second! They are all together again and partying as they did when they were all here with us.
Remember all the good times, and hopefully that will give you peace.
All my love,
Anne DeWitt Hoge

Dear Mimi and family —
Please accept our condolences for the loss of your mother. Your mother was certainly a beautiful woman and when our paths had crossed – I do remember her as a very caring and charasmatic person. Both of your parents were very special people and I am certain both are very missed yet will live on forever in our hearts.
