Gerard J. “Jerry” DeSapio, 63

Gerard J. “Jerry” DeSapio, 63, of Lancaster passed away April 12, 2017 at Lancaster Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Linda (DeBlasio) DeSapio to whom he was married for 24 years.
Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late Jerome and Connie (Esposito) DeSapio. Jerry graduated from Wagner College in Staten Island, NY with his master’s degree in special education and taught special education and music education in the Brooklyn School District. He was an easy going, witty, outgoing person who never met a stranger. Jerry enjoyed traveling with his wife Linda and played the tuba in the Ringling Bros. Circus and also was a member of the senior orchestra in Lancaster as well as the Malta Band. His passion was fishing especially in Cape May, Florida and Ocean City. He was a member of the Lancaster Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving in addition to his wife Linda is his cousin Richard Annicherico husband of Harriet of Staten Island, NY; one sister-in-law Diane wife of Michael Ronaldson of New Jersey; two brothers-in-law Frankie DeBlasio of Staten Island, NY and Bobby DeBlasio husband of Robin of New Jersey and father-in-law Frank DeBlasio and mother-in-law Marie DeBlasio both of New Jersey.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 12:00PM from the Lancaster Church of the Nazarene, 2150 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601 with Pastor Mark Justice officiating. Interment will be held privately. A visitation with Jerry’s family and friends will be held from 11AM until the time of his service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in his memory.

Linda, your husband Gerard was a great guitar teacher. I first met him in February 2000. It was an honor and a privilege to be one of his guitar students. He is going to be greatly missed by everybody.
