Gloria M. Potente, 89

Gloria M. Potente, 89, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Hospice & Community Care, Mt. Joy. Born in Schenectady, NY, Gloria was the daughter of the late Ralph and Lucy (DeCarlo) Martini. Her husband, Nicholas A. Potente, Jr., passed away in 1993.
Gloria was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church and also The Guys and Dolls Club.
Gloria enjoyed playing card games, bingo, visiting the casinos, traveling, especially to the Jersey shores. Having an Italian heritage, Gloria enjoyed cooking her famous homemade spaghetti and raviolis.
She was retired as a cashier at A&P Food Stores and following retirement she served as a waitress at various restaurants.
Gloria is survived by her son, Nicholas A. Potente, III, Lancaster, son-in-law, William J. Reid, husband of Debbie, Willow Street, three grandchildren, Tracy Topper, wife of Jason, of Willow Street, Lisa Binkley, wife of Paul, Lampeter, and William N. Reid, husband of Melissa, Virginia and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Gloria was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Reid, two brothers, and two sisters.
The Potente Reid Family would like to thank the Lancaster General Hospital, Hamilton Arms, Hospice & Community Care, Mt. Joy and the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Homes for their support and care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 7th, 2018 at 11AM at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church 2111 Millersville Pk. Lancaster, PA 17603 with The Rev. Lawrence Sherdel as Celebrant. A viewing will be held from 9AM-11AM at church. Interment will be in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Gloria’s memory to American Cancer Society 314 Good Dr. Lancaster, PA 17603.

To Nick and the Potente Family…Nick, your Mom was very blest to have you. I know she looked forward to your daily visits and enjoyed playing Scrabble, doing puzzles and spending time with you. She loved you very much. Please accept my deepest and most heartfelt sympathy at the passing of your Mom.
