Gordon L. Sheaffer, 84

Gordon L. Sheaffer, Sr., 84, of Lancaster, passed away at Abbeyville Nursing and Rehabilitation, Lancaster on Saturday, September 23, 2023. He was the beloved husband to the late Donna (Butler) Sheaffer with whom he celebrated over 61 years of marriage.

Born in Lancaster, PA he was the son of the late Violet (Miller) and Edward C. Sheaffer. Prior to retirement, Gordon worked at Federal Mogul for over 32 years. Gordon was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Together with his wife, Donna, he traveled the State documenting cemeteries for Find a Grave website.

He is survived by his son Gordon. L. Sheaffer, Jr., husband of Alissa Hegge of Gilbert, AZ; three grandchildren, Brady Souders fiancé of Jordan Duncan, Zachary Souders, fiancé of Tiffany Brown, and their daughter Everly Michelle Souders, and Abigail Sheaffer; brother Tom Sheaffer; and his former son-in-law, Ronald L. Souders of Lancaster.

Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his daughter, Michelle “Shell” Y. Souders, his grandson, Thomas Jefferson “TJ” Sheaffer, and his siblings: Charles Sheaffer. Gilbert Sheaffer and Leah Sheaffer-Wolf.

Private interment will take place in Cochran Cemetery, Templeton, PA.
