Grace E. Kruhoeffer, 82

Grace Erlean (Asper) Kruhoeffer, 82, of Lititz, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday November 28, 2012.  She was born on December 7, 1929 in Lock Haven, PA to John Blaine and G. Erlean (Uffelman) Asper.

She was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School and Lancaster School of the Bible.  Grace owned Little Wheel Antiques for 20 years in Leola and Lititz, and was an expert in American antique furniture — a field she studied for years.

Grace was an avid decorator, gardener, and bird lover.  In her earlier years, she studied voice and was a soloist in several churches in PA.  Her love of music and the Bible continued strongly into her final years.

Grace is survived by her husband Volker Kruhoeffer of Lititz with whom she celebrated 56 years of marriage on April 7, 2012.  With him, she traveled throughout Europe and the United States.  She is also survived by two sons: Douglas P. Kruhoeffer of Minneapolis (married to Laurie Kruhoeffer) and Kent Kruhoeffer of Tangshen, China; a daughter Joan Kruhoeffer of Lititz, PA; and two grandsons whom she adored, Walter Kruhoeffer of Minneapolis and Brett Kruhoeffer of Corpus Christi ( a US Naval Academy alumnus currently in flight school).  She is survived by two brothers: William D. Asper of Lock Haven, PA and John G. Asper of Avis, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as two sisters: Betty L. Larson and Lois Y. Hibbler, and two brothers: Walter “Bud” Asper and Paul W. Asper.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Grace’s Life on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at 2PM at Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim, PA 17545 in the Hoffer Auditorium.  A viewing will be from 1-2PM prior to the service. Dear Kent & Family,

Strange how I thought of you just the other day and today I read of your Mother’s crossing. My sincerest heartfelt condolences go out to you. We haven’t seen or been in touch with each other in about 30 years, but my memories of you are of a very special kind person.

I would love to hear from you sometime and catch up on all the interesting events in your life since college and how you got to China. Please feel free to give me a call at 717-824-3601 or to email me at billhorn50@yahoo.com. My current address is 1707 Marietta Ave., Apt 3M, Lancaster, Pa 17603,
