In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Beth Hoffer, who passed in 2014, and her brother, Claude F. Hart. She was the last of her immediate family.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at Brunnerville United Methodist Cemetery, 626 Pine Hill Road, Lititz, PA, 17543. Catherine was the most kindhearted and caring person I’ve gotten to know the past two years. Being able to get to know her as more than just a resident, but becoming family I’m so forever grateful for. Her kind words I will truly remember forever. I’m really truly going to miss you. I hope you’re reading the newspaper to Peggy up in heaven and having many heart filled laughs. – Morgan kasper

There was no kinder or caring person than Catherine Hoffer. She always thought of others before herself. The Lord has called one of his finest home. It was an honor to be her neighbor and friend.

Kay and Vivie…you may remember the Eckman family that lived next to your aunt in Brunnerville. Catherine was like a second mother to Fay and I, as well as a marvelous mother to Karen. Always a lovely smile and gentle manner while looking after so many others. So glad my husband and I visited with her last summer. Gloria “Jean Eckman” Degler

Brunnerville just lost another legacy. As a child I recall tagging along when Mom and Dad would pay them a visit. They lived across the street (years ago called the “back street” from my aunt and uncle – Vic and Rosene Sweigart. My parents Donald and Vera Eckert always thought highly of them and in later years my dad loved to “catch up” with Catherine on the latest news. What a remarkable person to raise Karen many years on her own. Just a short while ago while doing a “window visit” with Mom @ United Zion she showed a letter she received from Catherine. Thinking of others until the very end. She is at peace now and has joined her family. Memory Eternal! My sympathy to all.
