November 17, 2024
Harry “Bill” William Eisenhauer, 81, of Elizabethtown, PA, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024. Born in Elizabethtown to the late Arthur Eisenhauer and Martha Jones, he proudly served his country during the Vietnam conflict in the Navy.
After his military service, he began a long and fulfilling career as a truck driver, eventually owning his own trucking business. He retired in 2007, reflecting on a career that he dedicated his life to.
In 1969, Bill married the love of his life, Carol. Together, they spent over 55 years together, raising two children, Michele and Harry Jr. Upon his retirement, Bill and Carol embraced a new adventure, purchasing an RV, selling their home, and traveling the country.
Bill loved watching NASCAR and when he was younger, he rode motorcycles. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW throughout his life, finding camaraderie and purpose in these communities.
In his later years, Bill faced the challenges of Parkinson’s disease. When his condition progressed, he entered the care of the Southeastern Veterans Center. There, he found joy in playing poker and bingo, surrounded by a community that supported him.
Bill is survived by his wife, Carol Eisenhauer; their children, Michele Eisenhauer and Harry W. Eisenhauer Jr. (Kim); grandchildren, Lauren Shenk (Cory), Cody Eisenhauer (Andie), and Cameron Eisenhauer; and great-grandchildren, Raelynn and Brynlee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Eisenhauer and Martha Jones.
