Helen D. Kovaleski, 79
Helen D. Kovaleski, 79, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday at Maple Farms Nursing Center in Akron.
She was the wife of the late Vincent W. Kovaleski, who passed away in 1977. Born in Pittston, PA, Helen was the daughter of the late Stanley and Agnes Haladina Kroll.
Helen had worked as the night time nursing supervisor at Conestoga View until her retirement in 1985. Prior to this, she had worked at the Hamilton Watch Co., Hubley Toy Co., and the Schick Corp.
She was a social member of VFW Post 7294 in Millersville, was a die-hard Phillies fan, and enjoyed knitting and bowling. She also enjoyed vacationing in the winter with her sisters in Florida and spending time with her family.
Helen was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda A. married to Daniel J. Geraci of Pequea; a son, Douglas V. married to Mary Kay Kovaleski of Stillwater, MN; 2 grandsons, Ryan and Bradley Kovaleski; a brother Stanley Kroll of East Berlin, PA; a sister Anna Jennings of Bridgeport, CT, several nieces and nephews, and by her puppy, Lexus.
She was preceded in death by 5 sisters: Marie Kryston, Beatrice Long, Nellie Condit, Vicky Kroll, and Kay Jennings, and by two brothers, Andrew and Joe Kroll.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 930-1030AM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, with the funeral service to follow at 1030AM. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Helen’s memory to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr., Box 4125, Lancaster, Pa 17604-4125.
