Helen Esbenshade Rohrer, 91

Helen Esbenshade Rohrer, 91, formerly of Book Road, Lancaster went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 17th at Trillium Place. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Willis Z. and Anna (Denlinger) Esbenshade and was the wife of the late Harold G. Rohrer, who passed away in 2015.

Helen was a member of Calvary Church, Lancaster and participated in the Friendship ABF. She served on the bereavement committee and volunteered at mission conferences as well as hosted missionaries in her home. Helen was a member of Farm Women Society #28 and was named Lancaster County Farm Woman of the Year in 1971. In the community, Helen volunteered with Lancaster Meals on Wheels, served on the Farm and Home Foundation Board and was a prayer warrior with GOALS.

Helen was a devoted and gracious wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed working alongside her husband on the farm, gardening, and using her gift of hospitality.
She is survived by four children, Debra (Richard) Strickler of Lititz, Douglas (Martha) Rohrer, of Lancaster, Donna (Stuart) Roop of Annville, and Darryl (Dawn) Rohrer of Lancaster; her brothers, Wilmer (the late Shirley) Esbenshade, Lloyd (Irma) Esbenshade and Allen (Linda) Esbenshade; her sister-in-law, Judy Esbenshade; 11 grandchildren, Renee (Douglas) Kegarise, Kimberly (Jared) Yordy, J. Lamar (Kira) Rohrer, Kelli (Shane) Martin, Hannah Roop, Lori (Nicholas) Martino, Austin Rohrer, Ellen (Daniel) Solomon, Kristi Rohrer, Kathryn (Matthew James) Roop, Erica Rohrer; and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her brother, J. LeRoy Esbenshade, and two great-grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received from 4pm to 5pm on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601. A Celebration of Life Service will follow beginning at 5PM. Interment is being held privately at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s name to Calvary Church, Global Ministries, 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster, PA 17601.
