Dear Duwayne,
So sorry to hear of the passing of Helen. I know how much she meant to you for so long.
Marilu Sieber
The world has lost a source of light with the passing of this wonderful woman. But her light lives on in the many students she touched throughout her life. I had the phenomenal luck to have been in her third grade class in the 1959-60 school year; it is an experience I have remembered often, and with gratitude.
I walked into her class as a child who would rather poke around in a muddy stream than sit in a chair, and walked out in June as a scholar who loved to read-not only about the life in my good old "crick", but about any and everything I could. The joy I have received from reading all my life was nurtured under her watchful eye and generous spirit.
Please accept my most heartfelt condolences. And please know that the light of "Mrs. Metzler" lives on- in me, and in my children and grandchildren.
Sincerely,
Cynthia L.Kob (Cindy Strathmeyer)
