Henry William Kirchner, 90
July 10, 1932 - January 22, 2023
Henry “Bud” Kirchner, 90, of Oracle, Arizona, passed away January 22, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Henry and Helen (Steinheiser) Kirchner on July 10, 1932. Henry grew up in Lancaster with his younger siblings, Helen (Scheingraber) and Edward.
After high school, Henry joined the U.S. Navy and earned his sea legs on the USS Midway during the Korean War. He returned home to Lancaster and met Nana Gaille Huber who would become his wife, September 17, 1960. They had three children, Lori Jeanne, Tara Marie, and Henry Lester in Arizona, Michigan, and Ohio as Henry and Gaille moved for college (University of Arizona) and career. They raised their family in Auburn, Michigan where Henry worked at Dow Chemical as a technical service engineer, and had a home construction company, HWK Builders. His three children met spouses Troy Rosenberger (m. Lori), Todd Jean (m. Tara) and Carrie Holcomb (m. Lester), and extended Henry’s family with 8 grandchildren who greatly enjoyed their “Dad-Dad’s” sense of humor and adventures while visiting them at their retirement homes in Florida and Arizona. There are many fond memories watching Dad-Dad play softball in a retirement league and horseback riding.
Henry is survived by his wife Gaille; siblings, Helen and Ed of Lancaster, PA; children Lori Rosenberger (husband, Troy) of Tucson, AZ, Tara Jean (husband, Todd) of Perry, OH, and H. Lester Kirchner (wife, Carrie) of Lewisburg, PA, and his grandchildren (Lester’s) Henry Grant and Cole, (Tara’s) Clayton, Hayden, Evan, Gavin, Marguax and Eva.
