Irene Kimball, 92

Irene Kimball, 92, of Woodcrest Villa, Lancaster, formerly of Ocean Pines, MD and Englewood, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Mennonite Home of Lancaster, PA. She was the loving wife of the late Kenneth Kimball with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. Her husband passed away in 2007. Irene was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, PA.
As a new bride, Irene and Ken traveled to and lived in Singapore and Australia before moving permanently to the U.S. She was employed for many years as the senior pastor’s secretary at Tenafly Presbyterian Church in NJ. Irene was a long-time volunteer during her years in NJ, MD and PA. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking. In her retirement years she traveled extensively with her husband and friends. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and meeting her great grandson.
She will be lovingly missed by her daughter, Carole Magel, married to Robert of Lancaster, PA; her son, Jeffrey Kimball, married to Janice of Derwood, MD; and her grandchildren, Tracy, Christopher and his wife Caitlin, Allison and her husband Elliott and Kristen; and great grandchild, Easton. She was preceded in death by a brother and sister, A. Noel Wacker and Ruth Keefer.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 18th at Eagle Common at Woodcrest Villa, 2001 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends following the service. Private interment will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Eastern Shore, Buelah, MD, joining her husband where he was previously interred.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice and Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604 or to Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 East Roseville Road, Lancaster, PA 17601.

Thinking of you all. My deepest sympathy. Your mom was a special and certainly will be missed. Many fond memories of holidays, birthdays as well as gathering in the country or down the Jersey shore. Very sad day.
