Irma I. Medina, 68
October 16, 1955 - February 24, 2024
Irma I. Medina passed away peacefully at Lancaster Nursing & Rehab on Saturday February 24, 2024 at 6:40pm surrounded by her loving family after fighting a long, courageous battle with dementia.
Born in Cayey, Puerto Rico, Irma lived in Lancaster PA for 14 years then moved to York PA and which years later moved to Lehigh Acres Fl.
She was the daughter of the late Julio Santiago & Maria Trinidad Cruz. She was married to the love of her life, her predeceased husband, Miguel A. Medina, who passed away in 2021. They were happily married for a long, 31 years and together over 50 years.
Irma began working at a young age, first, in the housekeeping field and then as a fruit picker. Irma was a Christian woman with big Faith and her love for God and her family remained constant. She was larger-than-life, had the heart of a lion, giver and loved helping others. She was known for her Spanish (Puerto Rican) food, genuine kindness and vibrant sense of humor, which she kept to the end. Irma loved things like fishing, music, dancing, singing, playing dominoes, and cooking and cleaning.
Irma was very much loved from her sister, Milagros Santiago.
Irma was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a very good friend. She will be deeply missed by her children: daughter, Candida Hernandez, wife of Luis E. Hernandez, son, Julio Medina Santiago, husband of Melissa M. Medina, and her youngest son, Agapito Medina Santiago, along with 13 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren, who she adored and loved to the fullest.
A viewing will be held from 11AM to 12PM, Monday, March 4, 2024 at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA 17602.
