Isabel Cuevas, 73
March 15, 2025
Isabel Cuevas, 73, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
Born in New York City, Isabel was the daughter of the late Josefa Saturnina Rodriguez and Samuel Diaz. She was the beloved wife of the late Gilbert Cuevas, Sr., with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.
A woman of deep faith, Isabel attended The Worship Center and was a devoted prayer warrior. Her love for family and her nurturing spirit defined her life. She found joy in cooking, especially her famous fried chicken, rice, and home fries, which brought her loved ones together for cherished gatherings.
Isabel had a natural gift for caregiving, always putting others before herself. She found creative expression in painting and spent time reading her Bible, drawing strength and inspiration from its words. Music was also a passion—she loved listening to Christian music and drumming during weekly jam sessions with her sons. Her warm heart was matched by a wonderful sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around her.
She was a proud member of the Riverside and Rainmakers Clubs and shared a deep bond with her furbaby, Harley. She was a volunteer at Blessings of Hope in Lancaster PA.
Isabel is survived by her children: Valerie Garcia (Hipolito “Polo” Garcia), Gilbert Cuevas, Jr., Sammy Cuevas, Vincent Cuevas, and Ricardo Morales; grandchildren: Zavier Cuevas, Ashley Garcia (David Williams), Kayla Garcia, and Angelo Garcia; and great-grandchildren: Aaliyah Williams, Aniyah Williams, Elijah Cunningham, Josiah Garcia, and Ayden Graves. She is also survived by four sisters.
She was preceded in death by her sister Elba Diaz.
Isabel will be laid to rest in a private service at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, reunited with her beloved husband Gilbert Cuevas.
