Jake Eichelberger, 73
Jake Eichelberger, 73, of Huntingdon Pa. formerly of Intercourse and Paradise died peacefully at his home with his wife by his side on Monday, April 23, 2007. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late George and Ruth Bell Eichelberger. Jake was married to Brenda Cole Eichelberger for seven years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Michael Eichelberger, who died in 1983. Mr. Eichelberger was a Black Smith who shoed horses for the Amish in Intercourse for 50 years.
He served in the Army from January 1954 to January 1956. He was a member of the Lancaster- Lebanon Beagle Club. His hobbies included hunting, boating, riding and showing horses.
Surviving beside his wife Brenda are two daughters: Jeanna wife of Thomas Pannebecker of Ephrata, Colleen wife of Mitch Warner of Florida, and a son: Terry Eichelberger of Gap; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, Pa. on Friday at 11:00am. Interment in St John United Methodist Church Cemetery, Paradise, Pa. Friends may pay their respects to the family from 10:00-11:00am. Memorial contributions may be made in Jake’s memory to Home Nursing Agency, Hospice, 201 Chestnut Ave. Altoona, Pa. 16603.
