James C. Pfeiffer, 95

James C. Pfeiffer, 95, of Lancaster, passed away on February 15, 2018 at the Mennonite Home. Born in York, PA, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Feeser) Pfeiffer. Jim was a loving and devoted husband to the late Ellen Marie (Ryan) Pfeiffer.
A veteran, he proudly served in the US Army during WWII in the 99th Infantry Division. Jim retired in 1984 as a Quality Control Inspector, after 37 years of service with Armstrong World Industries. In retirement Jim enjoyed woodworking. However, family time was his greatest pleasure, enjoying games and cards and providing a challenge to all takers. Jim was a fun person, best known for his honesty, kindness, and loving personality.
Surviving are 3 children: Mark A. Pfeiffer, husband of Lisa M. Chambers, Patricia A. Miller, companion of Barry L. Sawyer, and Barbara A. Pfeiffer; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters: Elizabeth Fortney and Helen Crumbling of York, PA. He was preceded in death by siblings: Robert Pfeiffer, Doris Althoff, Gloria Price and Jacqueline Price.
Jim was a devout Catholic, and family and friends will be received from 10-11 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave, Lancaster, PA 17601. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mennonite Home, Benevolent Fund, 1520 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.

I was sad to learn of your father’s death last week when I visited my Dad (Elmer Shertzer) at the Mennonite Home. He is greatly missed there. Dad and I always enjoyed talking with him (and with you, too). We are praying for you in your time of loss.
