James I. “Jim” Hammons, 84

James I. “Jim” Hammons, 84, of Lititz, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, April 1, 2024, at Luther Acres. Born in Nottingham, Pa, he was the son of the late Ivan H. and E. Irene Farmer Hammons. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1960-1964. He attended and graduated from Solanco High School and worked in printing sales and layout design for the former Tursack Printing, Honey Brook. Fostering over 14 dogs in his lifetime, Jim’s had an immense love for animals and was always making room for “one more”. In his spare time, he volunteered at various animal shelters in the area. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, reading, and biking.
Surviving is a son; Richard Craig husband of Cindi Rebman Hammons, a daughter, Danielle Elaine wife of Kyle Reincke, four grandchildren, Joshua Hammons, Kelsey Hammons, Acelyn Trotman, Brecken Trotman, two step grandchildren, Kelsey wife of Tyler Miknis, and Allison Galie and two great-grandchildren, Reagan Seiple and Myla Miknis. Preceding him in death was his only sibling, Hazel Bowman.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Jim’s funeral service at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz Pa 17543, on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 3:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 PM until the time of service. The service will begin with military honors being rendered to honor Jim’s service. Those desiring may send contributions in Jim’s memory to Pet Pantry of Lancaster, 26 Millersville Road, Lancaster PA 17603 or Hammons Chapel Christian Church, 171 Hubert Taylor Road, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.

Condolences to the Family

Our deepest condolences to the Hammons family. We worked with Jim at Tursack printing. Jim introduced my husband and I back in 1993, he was very insistent I should have coffee with him. It was an honor to invite Jim to our wedding three years later, we are married 29 years and togther 32, we have Jim to thank for that. He is and always will have a very special place in our hearts. I was in Jim’s class at SoLanCo and remember his beautiful voice and kind manner.when I won Miss SoLanCo Jim sang “There she Goes” as I walked the walk.He was a credit to our class and I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers. Suzanne “Susie” Miller
