James “Jim” Register, 88

James “Jim” Register, age 88, of Lititz, passed away on June 11, 2024, at Brethren Village. Born in Valdosta, GA to Otis Register and Pearl Schaefer. James married Nancy Carolyn Register and they shared many years of heartfelt marriage until her passing in 2006. He was a faithful member of Lititz Church of the Brethren. A Veteran, James proudly served his county in the United Sates Navy. For many years he worked as a switch equipment technician for Bell Telephone, now known as Verizon. During his spare time, James enjoyed fishing, bowling and going out to eat at some of his favorite restaurants. He found peace in bird watching and loved a good game of cards.

Surviving are three sons; Shawn husband of Patty Register, Joel husband of Terry Register, Christopher Register, ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Robert and Richard Schaefer. Preceding him in death are two brothers, Moe Register and August Schaefer.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend James’s Funeral Service at Charles J. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 11:00 AM. There will be a time of visitation with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be private in Memory Gardens, Ephrata. Those desiring may send contributions in James’s memory to KU Cancer Center, Kansas City, MO.
