To family , friends Margot and Glenn. My deepest sympathy on Jim’s passing. There are so many memories from our old West Lancaster area to mention. But gee we all had great times as kids.Ah how great would be to go back and recapture those days prior to some people’s passing. All we do now is remember fondly. Dear Jim and family,
It was such a shock to read of your Dad’s passing. Please know you and your family are in our prayers. though we have not lived in Willow Street for awhile, You and your Dad ALWAYS took care of the Bertolini Girls’ cars .. He would start out “now promise not to cry” when it came time for an inspection, or some problem . Thank you so much for your care throughout the years. My Mom sends her love and sympathy too.
Peace and Love,
Nicole Bertolini Martin and Family

So sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. He was one heck of a nice guy. He let me work on my old camaro there, hang out along with with most of the other kids back in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Jim will surely be missed. Willow street has lost one of the nicest business men there. Jimmy I hope you and your family find peace during this sad time.

Jimmy and Family,
We cannot begin to describe the sadness we felt in hearing of the passing of Big Jim. What an honor it has been working with Jim for the past few decades. His stories, his chuckle and his smile will not be forgotten, nor will his generosity and big heart. Your father was a kind man, a legend in our small town and this community was better because of him. Our condolences and prayers to you and your family Jimmy. We love you all and as always, we are only a phone call away!

Dear Jim Jr. and Family,
Our deepest sympathy for the loss of your Dad. He was always there for any and all of us kids growing up around Willow St.. I have such good memories of how he tolerated us. Jim helped me keep my car on the road and let me use the tools that I didn’t have to fix it, and gave me some tricks of his trade that I still use today. In Willow St. there wasn’t much to do but we were always welcome to hang out at “JIMS gas station”. I am honored to have known your Dad. Respectfully, Terry Kreider and Sandi Lutz

My condolence to the entire Slagel family at this time and Jim Sr. was always such a great and very kind man in the neighborhood and I have as much as many in the Community to have known the signifigance to hang around the Gas Station while growing up and many fond memories there for me and to see Jim Sr. pull off some spectacular mechanical work and builds for years and always helped out anyone who came by for service. He surely passed that on to his son and it still lives on with Jr. and I been going to Slagels for close to 40 years now and I will surely miss Sr. and will always have great memories of the warmest people I ever met.
