James R. Goodman, 88

James R. Goodman, 88, of Everett, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Homewood House at Spring Estates. Born in Lewistown, he was the son of the late William Kenneth and Ruth N. Stover Goodman. He was the loving husband of Terry L. Harbaugh Goodman and would have observed 35 years of marriage this December. A veteran, Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Jim started his career at Sperry New Holland, later becoming Ford New Holland. He worked his way up and earned a management position during his 37-year career and later retired from the company, now known as Case New Holland. After retiring, Jim moved to Daytona Beach, FL and then North Myrtle Beach, SC. before returning home several years later.
He was a life-long member of every VFW Post, the American Legion #466, the Elks Lodge in Columbia and Middletown and the Masonic Lodge #655. He was an avid car enthusiast and throughout his life owned over 59 cars.
Surviving in addition to his wife Terry, are three children, Nancy J. wife of John Wertz, Ken R. husband of Becky Goodman, and Joel husband of Lori Goodman, two stepchildren W. Scott Naugle and Lori Marino, seven grandchildren, Sara, Andrew, Destiny, Joshua, Alicia, Justin, and Elliott, six great grandchildren, Zakary, Alex, Delilah, Declan, Kieran, June and a baby boy due in December. Also surviving is a sister, Mary Jane Reed. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Goodman, a step granddaughter, Krista Marino, and a brother, William J.Goodman.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a graveside service for Jim at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville, PA 17003 on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 3:00 PM. Those desiring may send contributions in Jim’s memory to any local veteran organization of their choice.

So very sorry to see Mr. Jim’s passing I knew him from the Fort Bedford VFW #7527 What a pleasure getting to know this man & hearing his stories We enjoyed many long talks & had many laughs Mr. Jim smile down on us from the clouds
