Jane M. Aspril, 88
December 24, 2024
Jane M. Aspril, age 88, of Lancaster, passed away on December 24, 2024. Born and raised in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Rosabelle (Bouder) Kneisley and the devoted wife of 56 years to the late Robert N. “Bob” Aspril.
Jane grew up with a passion for cheerleading, proudly representing Edward Hand Middle School and later continuing her spirited enthusiasm at J.P. McCaskey High School, from which she graduated in 1954. Her time in school was marked by enduring friendships that would last a lifetime. A devoted sports enthusiast, Jane was an avid fan of Penn State football and the Philadelphia Phillies, often cheering passionately for her teams.
In addition to her love for sports, Jane enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including bowling and playing cards, with a particular fondness for Pinochle. However, her most memorable moments were spent surrounded by her loving family, particularly during cherished vacations at the beach.
Throughout her life, Jane was a former but dedicated member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lancaster.
Jane is survived by her sons: Brad S. Aspril (companion of Christine Robertson) of Lancaster and Robb S. Aspril (husband of Carla) of Hampstead, MD and her grandsons: Erik Aspril, Kevin Aspril (husband of Lindsey), Joshua Aspril (husband of Kelsey), Corey Aspril (husband of Fernanda), Zachary Aspril (husband of Lauren) and Cody Aspril.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jane is preceded in death by her siblings: June Horst, John Geltz and Raymond Kneisley.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 500 Pearl St, Lancaster, PA 17603 from 9:30am to 11am with a shuttle to transport guests from Wheatland Middle School, 919 Hamilton Park Dr, Lancaster, PA 17603 to the church. A service to honor Jane will begin at 11am. Burial will be held at Riverview Burial Park at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute, 2102 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.
