Janet H. Wojszwillo, 90

Janet H. Wojszwillo, 90, of Lancaster and formerly of York and Millsboro, DE, passed away on January 30, 2025 in Lancaster, PA.
She was the wife of the late Francis Wojszwillo, who passed away in 2017 and the late Herbert Doughtery, who passed away in 2000. Born in York, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Edith Miller Shettel.
Janet had worked in the patient accounts department for York Hospital for 29 years. Following this, she had been a waitress at The Paddock in York and at the American Legion in Red Lion. She had also worked in Delaware at the Spring Maid Outlet.
She was a very active member of Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Rehoboth Beach.
Janet was a committed supporter of her community, where she was a lifetime member at the Indian River Fire Co., and a lifetime member of the American Legion and Elks in Millsboro, DE where she loved volunteering at Bingo. She was a talented seamstress and sold her sewing creations at craft shows. Janet enjoyed doing alterations for friends and family. She loved animals and watching game shows.
She is survived by her daughters: Sherry Shultz of Lancaster, PA and Sandy Shermeyer of Mount Wolf, PA; her 4 grandchildren: Scott Runkle, Nicholas Shermeyer, Brielle Hayward-Piatkowsky, and Elizabeth Knaub, as well as her 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Bill Doughtery, her brothers Glenn Jr and Earl, and by her sisters in law, Ginny and Janet.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made in Janet’s memory to Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 20276 Bay Vista, Rd., Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.

JANET WAS A BEAUTIFUL PERSON WE DID A LOT OF VOLUNTEER WORK TOGETHER. WE WERE ALWAYS UP TO SONETHING. SHE LIVED A BEAUTIFUL LIFE AND HELPPED WHEN EVER SHE WAS NEEDED. R.I.P. TILL WE MEET AGAIN.

Janet was a wonderful lady, so sorry to hear she has passed. My wife and I knew her from the Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge, we also knew Woz and Doc. May God bless your family. Tim & Shirley Price
