I worked with Jay at Eberhard Faber for the 20 some years.   He was so kind and a perfect gentleman.    He often teased me about the NY Yankees, especially when Bucky Dent hit the home run as we were traveling down the mountain from work.   He was in his car in front of mine and put his hand out the window as he listened to the game on his car radio.   Of course as Eberhard Faber closed we all went our separate ways.    My condolences to Gladys and the family.   I know he will be missed.

Dearest Glady and family,  So very sorry to hear of Jays passing. It certainly was a pleasure of mine to be associated with such a fine Scholar, Athlete and Gentleman. Our years at G.A.R. Memorial High School will never be forgotten. He and I played on the same basketball and baseball teams.
