Ken…as I tried to think of a worthy moment of our many memories of Jean, there were many especially those involving Kathy whose birthday was never forgotten by Uncle Ken and Aunt Jean. There were so many loving and creative gifts and I always felt you both were working on the side of the angels. As far as Carolyn and I are concerned, we remember with great appreciation our trip in 1985 to your beautiful home in Harrogate as we celebrated our first trip abroad. We enjoyed Jean’s cooking and hospitality , your daring driving on what seemed to me the wrong side of the road, the pounds we gained at Betty’s Confectionery, the great parking spot across from old Tom’ Morris’s Golf Shoppe almost on the 18th green and the Road Hole of The Old Course at St. Andrews. And then we were off to The British Open in Dover southern England for four glorious days, the highlight of which for Jean and Carolyn was the tackle of the male nude streaker on the 18th green by the American golfer Peter Jacobsen. As I remember it, I yelled for the ladies to cover their eyes and they immediately reached for the binoculars! Fond memories! That week was one of the highlights of of our 61 years of collecting memories.
Thank you JEAN and KEN,
Tom and Carolyn (aka Sis) Burke
