Spring Poem

Spring is like a warm and aromatic breeze.

Colored foliage, wet and warming a new beginning.

Hearing music outdoors.

Hearing doves “Coo”

Nature’s Gifts

The leaves rustle through the trees.

The brook is flowing with ease.

The mountains are majestic in size and beauty.

Trees are the largest plant in stance.

Month Of May Poem

May is for birds.

May is for flowers.

May is for blue skies.

May is for the green grass,
That is soft and ticklish on my feet.

Kathy, John, Frank and Greg,
My deepest sympathy to you and your families.  I had the great  good fortune of meeting Jean when I started working at Lancaster Press in January of 1974, and we have remained friends ever since.  Jean was always there for me.  She helped me through a difficult time in my life when I lost both my parents, but she and I shared good times too.  Jean was there when I had my daughter and shared the joy when I became a grandmother.  I am so very happy that Jean got to see and hold my granddaughter in June.  Your mother was a wonderful, caring person, and I am so glad she was in my life.  I consider myself very lucky to have know Jean and I will miss her deeply.

Everyone who knew Jean will miss her, and her warm smile. I w’ll think of her and smile evertime I see
a violet, a dog, an angel, or a beautiful piece of knitting.
Jean loved alot of people, most of all, her children and family. May warm memories of her live in
your hearts.
                                                                        In Fond Remembrance,
                                                                           Cindy Bishop

If we could all live our lives like Miss Jean did… She was such an amazing person & such an inspiration to me as she lived as independently and more importantly, she lived life to the fullest. I remember growing up next to her and your family and smile with such fond memories. She always wrote me at holidays and I am forever grateful for those notes. She was Somethin Else to say the least in the best of ways. Thoughts and prayers to your family.  Sharon Lee Risko, Pat & Ron Risko, Florence, SC

Dear Kathy, John, Greg, Frances, and families,
Knowing the peace and joy within your mom’s heart as she lived her life, I have such mixed emotions of sadness and gratitude to hear of her death as I know she was very content to live in her home until the end.
Her independance and zest to continue her daily actiivities were amazing, but at times I am sure challenging for all of you.  What I do know for sure, my parents valued her as a wonderful and caring neighbor all these 50some years.  They will miss her spirit in the “valley”.  My mom especially always lifted her up as a role model for “living alone” in one’s house as long as possible…..Your mom had a remarkable way of making it seem easy with her twinkling eyes and words of encourgement to my mom, “Stella, and you have a husband to help you!”
I, too, will miss taking time with her on my visits to PA.  We had good memories of our own (remember the car ride to fix the sewing machine?), growing up on the cul de sac.  And so we would laugh a lot revisiting those sweet times.
My heart goes out to all of you as you close this chapter and connection to Lancaster and to Blossom Valley.  I will continue to remember mom and all of you always as special people in my life.  Take care of your growing families and of yourselves.  And when you are at the house the last times, if you get a spare moment or need a breather, my parents would love to reminisce with you.
May mom’s soul rest eternal,
Cindy Gianopoulos Oak
