Jeanene W. Hevener, 92

April 19, 2025

Jeanene W. Hevener, 92, of Elizabethtown, passed peacefully into the embrace of eternity on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Masonic Village. Born in the quiet countryside of Martic Township to the late Harry and Miriam Rankin Bowers, Jeanene lived a life stitched with intention, elegance, and quiet strength. She was the beloved wife of the late John Hevener Jr., her steadfast companion and partner in life’s dance, until his passing away in 2012.

A woman of quiet brilliance and gentle conviction, Jeanene carved a path as a self-employed accountant, balancing the precision of numbers with the boundless care she poured into her home and family. She had a natural eye for beauty—whether found in the simplicity of a wildflower or the grandeur of a well-appointed room—and brought that sense of design and harmony into every space she touched.

Jeanene loved deeply and without reservation. She mothered with tenderness, partnered with devotion, and gave of herself wholly. In her later years, as life slowed to a gentler pace, she found joy in simple pleasures—coloring delicate patterns and piecing together puzzles, each a quiet meditation of patience and grace.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience in her three children: Ron, husband of Adelia; Sandy, wife of Sam Adams; and Duane, husband of MaryAnne. Her spirit lives on in her grandchildren—Crystal, Marlaina, Eric, Joshua, Jessica, and Laura—as well as in 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is now cradled in reunion with her dear grandchildren Tonya and David, and her sweet great-granddaughter Aubrey, who walked before her into the light.

At Jeanene’s gentle request, no services will be held. Those wishing to honor her memory are invited to carry her kindness forward—offer a helping hand, a warm smile, or an unexpected act of generosity. In those moments, her light will linger.
