I just learned about Jeff passing. He and Jesse Roberson were teammates of mine one summer at Buchanan Park league games. Needless to say, we won the title that season. Jeff was the smoothest player on the court. He was a kind and funny person. My condolences.

To Trina & Jocelyn & family; I am sorry to learn of Jeff’s passing please accept my heart felt condolences at your loss. Jeff (Hawk), was a true friend of mine we both lived and loved the life of basketball, in our early days growing up in Lancaster. We had a weekly ritual of going for a run at either “The Ville or F&M”. This is where we would play basketball against college competition. We started this in high school and continued until I left Lancaster in the latter 70’s. I regret not keeping in touch with Jeff over the years. Jeff also was a very good baseball player too. Jeff along with (Bird), Keith Gordon & Big Jessie Robinson all helped change the losing basketball culture at Mc Caskey to winners. He had many challenges to face, as we all do in life. But i also felt he did the best that he could to overcome them. My he rest now in PEACE… Daryl Hardcastle

My deepest condolences to Jeff’s family. He spoke of everyone often in my conversations with him. He was a great worker and caring man. He was especially kind to my grandson during a difficult time. He always made a fuss about Reilly, this helped so very much. Jeff owned up to his mistakes and moved forward with determination. I admired his fortitude. Peace and Blessings

Always enjoyed easy and meaningul conversation with Jeff during his employeement at Grandview Church. An entertaining story teller for sure and I loved hearing him reminscene about the basketball years. Fondly remember how proud he was when Carisa would join him for worship. Saddened by his passing. Praying peace and comfort for his family. Tammy Horning

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Jeff. I had the privilege of playing against him when he was at Edward Hand and I was at Lincoln. Then, I started in the backcourt with him on McCaskey’s JV team. What a tremendous player. I always enjoyed his sense of humor. I pray for comfort for all remaining family.

Remembering Jeff very fondly from our basketball days at both the Boys Club & JP McCaskey High School. Our paths would occasionally cross over the years & it was always like old times reminiscing & picking up from where we last left off. Glad to see he is getting a proper burial at Indiantown Gap among his fellow soldiers. Just as the Righteous Brothers wrote a song about ” Rock & Roll Heaven”, Jeff will certainly add talent to the already talented basketball players who passed before him upon his arrival! Rest in peace Hawk! I’m quite sure you deserve it.
