Jessie J. Gundaker, 75

Jessie J. Gundaker, 75, of Lancaster died Sunday morning at Lancaster General Hospital.  She was an RN for 56 years until retiring at the age of 70.  She worked at Lancaster General Hospital in the maternity ward, Duke Convalescent Home and Village Vista.

She was a 1949 graduate of Penn Manor High School and a 1952 graduate of Montgomery Hospital School of Nursing in Norristown.

She was a member of Conestoga United Methodist Church.  She loved to read romance novels, cleaning, going out to eat, Rawlinsville camp meetings and being a grand and great grandmother.

Born in Conestoga she was the daughter of the late Ralph D. and Barbara S. Groff Fry.  She was married to Charles Albert Gundaker who died in 1980.

Surviving are seven children; Jodi A. married to Rory L. Grimm of Lancaster; Jessie R. Smay of Lancaster; Joseph P. married to Michelle Gundaker of Lancaster; J. Keith married to Barbara Myers of Ephrata; Donna married to Rev. Jerry Phelps of Ohio; Charles A. Gundaker of CA; Vicki married to Tim Crha of CA; 18 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; two brothers; William C. married to Karen Fry and Robert G. Fry both of Lancaster; Brother-in-law, Harry married to Sheila Gundaker, FL and eight nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster on Friday at 11:00am.  A viewing will be held on Thursday night at the funeral home from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Friday morning from 10:00am until time of service.  Interment in Conestoga United Methodist Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers contributions in Jessie’s memory may be made to the Lancaster Heart and Stroke Foundation, 354 N.
